      What is Tedxyouth@IsaacDickson?
      June 2, 2012.

           What is TEDxYouth@isaacdickson?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxyouth@isaacdickson, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxyouth@isaacdickson event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

This is an event, a gathering, an day of inspiration. Fifth grade students from Isaac Dickson Elementary School in Asheville, North Carolina will share their ideas about how to change the world via live presentations in the Isaac Dickson auditorium. The "talks" will be filmed, edited, and posted to the internet to join the global TED movement.

But the event isn't just about these young people sharing their ideas "worth spreading" --it's also about participating in conversations about their ideas, sharing yours, and being a part of a community that is passionate about learning and making real change to improve all of our lives.

The event is open to the entire community.

These students are part of a year-long project, Writing to Change the World funded by the Asheville City Schools Foundation, Isaac Dickson PTO, and individual donors.  THANK YOU!
